Advertising is NOT for everyone.

Question_mark

I don’t know how many times I said this, but I’ll keep saying it over and over again because college students who are considering joining the “glamorous” world of advertising need to know THAT.

It’s sad when I see people who quit within a couple of years when they realize that advertising is not what they thought it was. Or worse, people who stay in advertising even though they hate it AND suck at it. So so sad.

When I was in college, I was so lucky to meet some great pros who told me the truth exactly how it was. They didn’t sugar coated it for me and I appreciated that so much because I knew what was coming when I first stepped into an ad agency. And you know what’s funny? sometimes you discover worse stuff than what you heard. Seriously.

We, Ad people are very special, it’s like we were born thit way, we can’t help it. Despite of all the bad stuff about advertising, we still love it. Anyways, my point is, this industry is NOT for everyone (here I am repeating it again…) so, think carefully before getting into it. Follow your heart, do what you’re passionate about. If you don’t do what you love, you will unfortunately never be happy.

So, I will dedicate next week’s posts to answering questions. Your questions. I gathered a list of great professionals who will answer your questions very honestly.

I also gathered a list of typical questions students and juniors ask. Hell, I ask those questions all the time. I want you to SUBMIT YOUR QUESTIONS.
